Chinese tourists are getting the flu and they want to know why

The Chinese tourists that were in town for the Commonwealth Games are worried about the flu pandemic.

The travel and tourism company TravelChina says there were more than 60,000 people who visited the city for the games, which ended on Monday.

“We’ve had reports of the flu in our office,” TravelChina chief executive Xu Xiaofei said.

“The number of reported cases is growing daily.”

The number of flu cases in the city is expected to grow even faster, Mr Xu said.

The virus is believed to be circulating among tourists, particularly those from Hong Kong and mainland China.

Mr Xu has warned of a potential pandemic in the mainland.

The government has declared a public health emergency in Beijing, the capital, as the virus continues to spread.

There are no reports of people having contracted the virus in the capital.

However, the outbreak is likely to continue.

“There are several factors that can lead to the spread of influenza, including a high prevalence of the virus, a high level of urbanisation, high-risk behaviours, a lack of awareness, poor hygiene and lack of medical services,” Dr Xu said, adding that it is very difficult to predict the spread and the impact on people.

TravelChina’s Mr Xu told the BBC that the flu is not the only threat the city faces.

“If we have more than a certain number of people travelling, then there will be an increase in cases of influenza,” he said.

However he also said that while he has seen cases of flu in Hong Kong, mainland China was not affected by the pandemic, saying there was a high proportion of mainland visitors.

“What we need to do is make sure we provide better public transport,” he added.

Travel China says it will provide more public health and public health services to its staff and customers, including health screening and vaccination.

The company has also launched a campaign to educate Chinese tourists about the risks of getting sick.

“It’s not just about catching the flu, but also about the other things that can happen,” Mr Xu added.

“Our company is not a healthcare company, we are a travel company and tourism is our most important business.”

We need to make sure that our staff are aware about the pandemics, and how they can protect themselves.
